TEEN ADVOCATERS
Time's ticking!
Our Story

Teen Advocators is a youth organization created to serve the community and work towards leaving the world a better place than we found it. TA creates an outlet for students, from middle school to college, to develop their leadership skills and turn their goals into reality. We offers a place for students to express their opinions and ideas as well as advocate for change in their community.

Our Work
Recent work we have done with TA members.
01
Bake Sale for Food Banks in NYC
TA organized and set up a bake sale on the Rockaway Boardwalk in Queens to raise money for food banks across Queens. We baked various treats such as cookies and brownies and sold them for $2 - $4. There were online and cash payment options. $343 was raised.
03
Holiday Cards for caregivers in NYC
Students and teens were able to create holiday cards during December for those who serve the community. Cards were created digitally and printed out. They were given to teachers, nurses, staff members, security guards, police officers, and more. Over 100 cards were delivered during the Holiday season.
02
Petitions for different causes
During the summer of 2023, TA set up petitions for causes including KOSA and Seclusion and Restraint. The KOSA petition informed people of the harm the bill would cause and the effort to ban the bill from being passed in Congress. The Seclusion and Restraint petition educated people on the practice and how it is used in different settings as well as the harm it brings to its victims. It emphasizes why this practice should be banned nationwide.
04
Park Cleanups
TA hosted various park cleanups at different parks including Bowne Park, Forest Park, and Hammel Playground. Teens were able to work together to clean up garbage and plant flowers in garden areas.
